About Our Approach to Chiropractic Care
Our approach to chiropractic care provides a unique and personal service which achieves the maximum results for each patient in a timely and affordable manner. The Posture Chiropractor, Dr. Jennifer Price, D.C., emphasizes postural correction in her practice because poor posture is correlated with a number of health risks, and it is the source of a variety of common painful symptoms and conditions. Dr. Price is the only chiropractor in the North Bay offering Advanced BioStructural Correction™, the breakthrough approach to chiropractic and manual body work that is producing incredible results for patients all over the world through the power of postural correction. For those patients who are seeking a more integrated natural health approach to wellness, a variety of other alternative and holistic therapies are available may be used in conjunction with chiropractic care, or on their own.
Ultimately, we hope that every patient who comes under care will appreciate the many benefits of chiropractic and good posture, and that they will choose to carry on with chiropractic care throughout their lives as part of their ongoing health and wellness routines. But we also understand that the majority of people who come to see us are in a considerable amount of pain or discomfort when they first come under our care, and this is why our first focus for most new patients is what we call “Relief Care.” Once we have helped our patients achieve relief from their symptoms, they may choose to discontinue care, or they may opt to continue their care on a wellness basis. We offer the option of continuing care in a progressive manner called “Corrective Care,” or in a periodic manner called “Maintenance Care.” Whatever your health and wellness goals may be, Dr. Price, will work with you to determine the best course of action for your individual needs.

The following outlines the different phases of chiropractic care we offer:
Relief Care – This is the phase of care which most people will start with. The primary goals of this phase are to provide relief from the symptoms which have prompted treatment and to gain a bit more stability in the spine. Relief care requires more intensive treatment, with most adult patients receiving approximately 2 treatments per week over a period of 4-8 weeks (depending on the nature and severity of their problem and the individual case). At the conclusion of the relief care, each patient must choose whether to leave care for the foreseeable future, or to continue on with further care on a wellness basis in the form of Corrective Care or Maintenance Care.
Corrective Care – This phase of care is an optional phase at the conclusion of Relief Care. The purpose of Corrective Care is, as the name implies, to correct the underlying biostructural problems in the spine and improve posture. This phase of care can be pursued for weeks, months, or even a couple years depending on nature an severity of the case and the individual patient's preference for care. During Corrective Care, treatments continue on a regular basis, but typically are less frequent than Relief Care.
Maintenance Care – This phase of care is an optional phase at the conclusion of Relief Care or Corrective Care. The purpose of maintenance care is to maintain the results which have been achieved during the more intensive phase(s) of care. The goal is to find an interval of time between treatments which is regular enough to correct any new problems, maintain what correction has been achieved, and prevent the onset or return of symptoms and poor posture. Many of our patients find that a monthly treatment is an excellent interval for Maintenance Care, though some may opt for a schedule of care which is more or less frequent, depending on their individual needs and circumstances.
